Abstract [en]

The research for the bachelor thesis is about the socio-cultural benefits of festivals on residents' well-being. Festivals play a crucial role in socializing, delighting, and drawing people together, as they are an integral component of the cultural fiber of communities. This study's objective is to explore the socio-cultural benefits of festivals for community residents' well-being. Since the aim is to explore and gain concrete, in-depth knowledge about the socio-cultural benefits festivals have on community residents' well-being, the residents of Båstad, Sweden, are interviewed as a specific real-world subject. Båstad is a small community that hosts several festivals and events during the summer. To accomplish the aim of this research, a qualitative research approach is conducted using semi-structured interviews to collect data. The research findings can assist event planners, local governments, and decision-makers in their efforts to organize successful events that promote community residents' well-being.
