: Evaluation of Save the Children's course "It’s about safety" - A quantitative study of school staff's experiences of the course and their occupational self-efficacy (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Children spend a lot of time in school, therefore school staff have a great opportunity to detect children who are abused at home because of violence. The aim of this study was to evaluate, through a quantitative approach, the extent to which Save the Children 's course "It’s about safety" has had some perceived effect on the group of school personnel who have participated in the course so far. The data collection method was questionnaires and the questions concerned the school staff's perceived competence regarding, among other things, completing reports of concern to the social service. The main results of the study shows that the course has had a positive effect on the school staff regarding perceived knowledge to handle situations related to violence against children. The results were analyzed on the basis of empowerment, self-efficacy and occupational self-efficacy.
