The ability to communicate orally in a foreign language is fundamental and highly evaluated by both student and teacher. Therefore, it is important that teachers use various activities that can stimulate and improve oral communication skills of students in the class of Spanish. This investigation analyzes what activities teachers use in Spanish class and what activities could be performed in Spanish class to stimulate and improve students’ oral communication. To achieve the objective of this work we applied three scientific methods: observation of Spanish classes, interviews with Spanish teachers and student surveys. The results show that the state of oral communication in the class of modern language varies depending on the type of activities that are applied to the class. To stimulate and improve oral communication skills of students in Spanish class, teachers should apply more frequently, activities oriented towards authentic (real) communication.
