Abstract [en]

In order to reduce the shortage of health professionals, many health care providers in Sweden are recruiting internationally. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure employee retention. The purpose of this study was to describe what contributes to retention of internationally recruited employees at Landstinget Dalarna. The method used for this study was a case study which consisted of interviews with health professionals who have been recruited internationally. The study showed several potential causes for retention of internationally recruited employees at Landstinget Da-larna.

Många landsting i Sverige rekryterar internationellt för att täcka upp för bristen på vårdperso-nal. Att denna vårdpersonalen stannar kvar hos arbetsgivaren är därför av stor vikt. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva vilka orsaker som finns till att internationellt rekryterad vårdper-sonal vid Landstinget Dalarna har valt att stanna kvar hos arbetsgivaren. Tillvägagångsättet för denna studie var en fallstudie som bestod av intervjuer med internationellt rekryterad vårdper-sonal. I studien har flera potentiella orsaker kunnat identifieras till att internationellt rekryterad vårdpersonal har valt att stanna på Landstinget Dalarna.
