Bakgrund:

Övervikt och fetma är ett växande problem, från år 1980 till 2014 har den globala förekomsten av övervikt och fetma mer än fördubblats. Personer med övervikt och fetma har en ökad risk att utveckla följdsjukdomar som bland annat högt blodtryck, diabetes typ 2 och hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar, även risken att dö i förtid ökar. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskans hälsofrämjande åtgärder till vuxna med övervikt och fetma inom primär- och somatiskvård. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt där data insamlades via databaserna CINAHL och Pubmed. Resultatet baserades på 14 artiklar med såväl kvantitativ som kvalitativ ansats. Resultat: Resultatet presenteras i fem kategorier; Tidsbrist och icke anpassad utrustning, Kunskap och kompetens, Attityder hos sjuksköterskan, Tilltro till samtalet och den egna förmågan, samt Sjuksköterskans egen livsstil. Slutsats: Denna litteraturöversikt bidrar med förståelse för vilka hälsofrämjande åtgärder som påverkar sjuksköterskans arbete hos patienter med övervikt eller fetma. Sjuksköterskan har goda möjligheter att arbeta främjande vid viktproblematik och en betydande roll för hur patienter med övervikt och fetma bemöts och vårdas.

Background:

Overweight and obesity are a growing issue, from 1980 to 2014 have the global presence of overweight and obesity more than doubled. People with overweight and obesity have an increased risk of developing sequelae such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, even the risk of dying beforehand increases. Aim: The aim was to describe factors that affect the nurses’ health promotion to adult with overweight and obesity in primary and somatic care. Method: The study was conducted as a literature review where data was collected thru the databases CINAHL and Pubmed. The result was based on 14 articles with both quantitative and qualitative approach. Results: The results

show five categories that affect the nurses health promotion: Lack of time and non-adapted equipment, Knowledge and skills, Attitudes of the nurses, Confidence in the conversation and own ability and The nurses own lifestyle.

Conclusion: This literature review provides an understanding of what factors that affect the nurses’ work with health promotion towards patients with overweight or obesity. Nurses have good opportunities to work preventively with weight problems and they have a significant role in how patients with overweight and obesity are treated.
