Bakgrund

: Inom hälso- och sjukvården är det viktigt med en välfungerande kommunikation och att rätt information överrapporteras. Årligen inträffar många vårdskador i vården där en av huvudorsakerna är bristande kommunikation. Kommunikationsverktyget SBAR (situation, bakgrund, aktuellt tillstånd och rekommendation) används idag av många verksamheter vid överrapportering.

Syfte.

Syftet med denna studie är att sammanställa forskning kring effekter och erfarenheter av att använda SBAR inom somatisk slutenvård.

Metod:

En litteraturöversikt med tretton kvantitativa och fyra kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar som baserades på effekter och erfarenheter av att använda SBAR inom somatisk slutenvård.

Resultat:

SBAR främjade patientsäkerheten då det blev en säkrare och tydligare överrapportering. SBAR bidrog även till ett bra och välstrukturerat teamarbete mellan olika vårdprofessioner. Övervägande erfarenheter från deltagande vårdpersonal var positiva vid användandet av SBAR i verksamheten.

Slutsats:

SBAR var ett användbart kommunikationsverktyg som kunde underlätta, förbättra och bidra till en säkrare överrapportering samt ett bättre teamarbete inom somatisk slutenvård. Verktyget kunde även minska vårdskador relaterade till kommunikationsbrist. Dock behövdes det utbildning samt en god kommunikationsförmåga hos den som rapporterade och hos den som mottog informationen för att detta verktyg skulle kunna fungera optimalt i praktiken.

Background

: In the field of healthcare, it is important to have a well-functioning communication and that the correct information is reported extensively. Many healthcare injuries occur annually, one of the main reasons is the lack of communication. The communication tool SBAR (situation, background, assessment and recommendation) is used today by different companies in the case of handover.

Aim:

The aim of this study is to compile and describe the effects and experiences of using SBAR.

Method:

This was a literature review which consists results from thirteen quantitative and four qualitative scientific articles describing the effects and the experiences of using SBAR in somatic inpatient-care.

Results:

SBAR promoted patient safety as a safer and clearer handover. SBAR contributed to a good and well-structured teamwork between different care professionals. The consideration of participating healthcare professionals had positive experiences of using SBAR in the healthcare.

Conclusion:

SBAR where a useful communication tool that could facilitate, improve and contribute to safer handover and better teamwork in somatic inpatient-care. The tool could also reduce injuries related to miscommunication. However, education and good communication skills were required by the person that reported and the person that received the information in order for this tool to function optimally in practice.
