Bakgrund:

Kraven på den palliativa vården är stora. Patienten ska kunna leva ett fullgott liv till det sista andetaget. Att få ta del av vad patienter i palliativ vård önskar av vården är viktig för att kunna förstå hur en så personcentrerad vård som möjligt ska kunna bedrivas.

Syfte:

Syftet är att belysa den döende patientens upplevelse av palliativ vård i livets slutskede.

Metod:

En litteraturöversikt av (n=15) kvalitativa artiklar. Gemensamma nämnare har plockats ut och analyserats.

Resultat:

Många patienter önskade ärlig information och mer delaktighet i sin vård för att inte tappa kontrollen om din tillvaro. Patienterna ville inte vara till last för någon och inte heller känna sig berövad på sitt liv innan det var slut. En förutsättning att den palliativa vården ska vara god och skapa ökad livskvalitet är att patientens delaktighet och värdighet upprätthålls i livets slutskede.

Slutsats:

Det är viktigt att sjuksköterskan är lyhörd och i dialog med patienten skapa en personcentrerad palliativ vård, utifrån varje individs unika vårdbehov så att patienten känner sig sedd och betydelsefull.

Background:

There are big demands on palliative care. Patients must be able to live life to the fullest to the last breath. To be able to take part of what patients enrolled in palliative care wishes for this type of care is important for understanding how to execute a good patient-centered care.

Aim:

The aim is to illustrate the dying patients experience of palliative care at the end of life.

Method:

A review of (n=15) qualitative articles. The common denominators has been identified and analyzed.

Result:

Many of the patients were wishing for honest information and been able to participate more in their care so they wouldn't lose control over their existence. The patients didn't want to be anyone's burden and feel deprived of their life before it was over. A condition for good palliative care that gains quality of life is the patients participation and that the patients dignity is maintained throughout the end of life care.

Conclusion:

It is important that the nurse is perceptive and able, with a dialog with the patient, to create person centered care, based on each individuals unique care needs so the patient feel seen and meaningful.
