This thesis explores social capital and potentially influencing factors in the tourism destination Bohemian Switzerland. To reach its goals the study area municipality Hřensko was chosen to conduct research. Through interviewing different types of stakeholders of the destination, the data was collected and consequently analysed with the use of thematic analysis. The results show that hosting a special event was contributing to the sense of community and creation of both bonding and bridging social capital. As an important element was also identified trust, especially, in order to facilitate collaboration. Furthermore, there was noted positive influence of communication and local engagement in collaboration. The findings are supporting the existing body of literature. Furthermore, they emphasised the role of the institutions and tourism organisation in creation and positive demonstration of social capital in the tourism demonstration. Therefore, there is need to see the social capital in destination as a complementary relationship of different agents.
