The aim of this study has been to investigate teacher’s awareness of norms in general and heteronorms in particular. These teachers are teaching religion in upper secondary schools and have been working as teachers at least eight years since their graduation. Based on queertheories and antioppressive pedagogy the results show that there is an awareness of norms related to sexuality, gender and gender identity among these teachers. What´s more the results show that there is an awareness among the teachers that these norms and especially the heteronorm can be discriminative and excluding.
