Bakgrund: När botande behandling inte längre är möjlig byter vården riktning till palliativ vård. Palliativ vård syftar till att lindra både psykiskt och fysiskt lidande och hälso- och sjukvården ansvarar för ett psykologiskt, socialt och existentiellt stöd till patient och anhöriga. Vård och omvårdnad ska alltid byggas på respekt och behandlingen ska så långt det är möjligt utformas tillsammans med patienten. Syfte: Att beskriva anhörigas upplevelser av sjuksköterskans stöd vid palliativ vård. Metod: Examensarbetet genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt baserad på 15 artiklar med kvalitativ och kvantitativ design samt mix-metod.  Resultat: Det framkom i de flesta studier att anhöriga upplevde ett gott stöd från sjuksköterskan samt att deras upplevelse av stöd kunde uppfattas på olika sätt. Att få information som var ärlig gjorde att anhöriga kände sig trygga och kunde förbereda sig för den kommande döden. Kramar och förstående blickar från sjuksköterskan upplevde anhöriga som att bli sedda och respekterade. En av de negativa faktorerna som bidrog till minskad känsla av stöd var att sjuksköterskan uppfattades stressad och inte hade tid att informera eller stödja anhöriga. Slutsats: För att främja en god situation för både patient och anhörig bör sjuksköterskan och övrig hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal arbeta utifrån familjefokuserad omvårdnad där hela familjen ses som en viktig del i vårdförloppet och omvårdnaden.  

Background: The palliative care starts when the curative treatment no longer is possible. Palliative care aims to relieve suffering symptoms that both can be physical and mental. Healthcare must be a mental, social and existential support for both the patient and their relatives. The care should always be grounded in respect and the treatment must be planned together with the patient as far as possible. Aim: To describe relatives' experiences of the nurse's support in palliative care. Method: The exam essay was conducted as a literature review including 15 articles with qualitative, quantitative and mix-method.  Results: In most studies, it emerged that relatives experienced good support from the nurse and that their experience of support could be perceived in different ways. Honest and direct information made relatives feel safety and gave them possibilities to plan for the coming death. Hugs and an understanding look from the nurse made relatives feel respected and that they were seen. One of the insufficient factors for support was when the nurse was perceived as stressed and lacked time to inform and support the relatives. Conclusion: In order to promote a good situation for both patient and relatives, the nurse and other healthcare professionals should work on the basis of familyfocused nursing where the whole family is seen as an important part of the care process and nursing.
