Abstract [en]

This thesis, first retracing the historical roots and cultural meaning of the practice of FGM/C, explores the current point of view of some healthcare professionals who works with Somali women who went through it. Through anthropological lenses, this study provides a holistic point of view which connects the history of the practice, its cultural explanation, and the connection of these dynamics to the health field in the contest of migration.
