Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This thesis work examined the construction company Svenska Husgruppen AB’s (SHG AB) fractional information management due to outdated IT resources. In this case study we have conducted interviews and observations to identify problem areas as well as the company’s objectives linked to the current work environment, with the aim of contributing potential needs and matching the needs based upon the ERP system: Monitor G5's automation proposals. We applied the FA-SIMM analysis method in our study, which showed an outcome of a problematic work environment and working conditions with a high degree of manual processes. The problems led to inefficient working conditions in the business, for example: lack of traceability during work routines, misleading information management etc. The conclusion in our work shows that, the needs based on the company’s goals and problems at SHG AB could be matched with Monitor's G5 system. For example: visualized statistics on real-time in / out payments, traceability in-line with information & material flow, etc. although some functions in the ERP-system couldn’t provide the company’s needs. But the lack of functionalities could be addressed via third party integration. Finally, we assist that these solutions to the SHG AB’s problems can potentially streamline the manual processes in a divided work environment & fractional information management.
