IT security among private individuals (English)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this essay is to find out what the security consciousness among private individuals looks like today, and has it changed anything over the recent years? To collect the data needed, a quantitative survey was conducted, the survey was answered by 189 respondents. The results of the survey have been compared with three other studies to see if any change has taken place. The Survey showed that today's private individuals protect themselves and their lives on the internet in a good way. Although they showed a good awareness in most of the questionnaire survey, there were some questions where the respondents would state how safety-conscious they are. The answers to these questions were contradictory to previous questions. The respondents themselves stated that they had a worse knowledge than they had, if you looked at the earlier questions, they showed a good consciousness in the measures they did to protect themselves. In the previous studies, private individuals considered themselves to possess a good level of knowledge, but they did not fully take the necessary measures that need to be taken and to the extent that it is taken today. The conclusion was that today's private individuals have a better level of knowledge and awareness in the subject of IT security than private individuals from previous years.
