This presentation will present use of digital tools and multilingual support in education for recently arrived students in upper secondary school. The study draws on research showing the importance of enabling L2-students to use earlier language skills in school. The material was created through observations of lessons in natural science and social together with stimulated-recall interviews with students. Preliminary findings show that the multimodal and multilingual practices students are involved in, and the diverse strategies they use in these lessons, are enabled by their access to multilingual teaching material, including varied digital resources.
