Tillhållahandandet av sexuell och reproduktiv hälsovård i Ukraina : En översiktsstudie baserat på ramverket ”Minimum Initial Service Package” (Swedish)
Abstract [en]
In 2014 Russia invaded Crimea, a conflict that escalated in 2022. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine is said to have negative effects on health outcomes most especially sexual reproductive health. Therefore it becomes crucial to investigate what is/ and what has been missing in sexual reproductive health (SRH) services in Ukraine since the start of the conflict.
This thesis investigates implementation of SRH services by using the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) framework. The framework consists of a series of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) activities that have to be implemented to assure SRH services at the onset of an emergency.
Through the scoping review method, this study aims to discover what is and has been missing in the SRH health services and try to answer research questions regarding what SRHR “gaps” exist and what SRH services are “available”.
One of the main findings of the study shows that emergencies present a huge need for SRH services. The war in Ukraine has disrupted all systems, which has created gaps in services and supplies provision- including creating barriers limiting delivery of SRH services in the framework of MISP.
