Computer games and language learning: How computer games influence second language learning
Dalarna University, School of Teacher Education.

Abstract [en]

This study has investigated the relationship between language learning and computer games and in what way games can be said to influence language learning. This has been done by looking at earlier research in this subject, and analyzed with the help of Actor-Network Theory together with a sociocultural perspective. Although the results vary, it suggests that computer games in general can be said to have a positive influence on language learning. And while there is a lack of source material since the subject is not that well researched, this study draws the conclusion that computer games help with language learning.
