Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increasingly spread throughout society. Given the current state of society, it can be important for organizations to keep up with developments. The authors of this qualitative study aim to investigate how Swedish organizations use AI in the recruitment process, which is the purpose of the study. To achieve the study's purpose, a qualitative method has been applied. To answer the purpose, six HR professionals were interviewed. To understand the overall picture, the study included organizations from municipalities, regions, private, state organizations, and consulting firms. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to provide data. The work has been analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that organizations use AI in the recruitment process at various stages. Primarily, AI is used in job advertisement creation, different testing environments, and reference handling. The results also show that there are both opportunities and challenges with using AI in the recruitment process. One of the main opportunities presented is that it becomes more time-efficient, and the main challenge presented is that AI algorithms can be trained incorrectly, which may result in the recruitment process not being free from bias. One conclusion presented by the study is that there is ongoing development when it comes to AI in the recruitment process.
