How is the polite salutation in German as a second foreign language in schoolbooks för upper secondary school and high school? The aim of this study is to find out how the subject of polite salutation is handled in the analysed books. Does the student get enough information as to how important this subject is and how to practice it? The thesis of this study is that the subject of polite salutation is not mentioned sufficient for the students to achieve a more complete overview of cultural competence in German language.
