Dalarna University, School of Technology and Business Studies, Environmental Engineering.
2003 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years))Student thesis
Abstract [en]

Under consideration of environmental protection and energy diversity, the research and development of electric vehicles becomes prosperous in recent years. In this thesis project, the focus is concentrated on the investigation, analysis and design of photovoltaic charging station for electric scooter. At the beginning, an introduction with a brief historic about electric vehicles is given, why they reduce the air pollution and how the electric scooter charging can be improved. In this introduction it will be explained how the different parts of the scooter work and which theoretical background that is used. Secondly, the measurements to determine the energy consumption of the mini motor bike will be made. The simulations with PVSYST and design the charging station are made. After searching that company which is willing to lend an electric scooter, the measurements will be started as well as simulations and designing the PV charging station. After the practical part, the economical part is written: financing, installation. Finally, the possibility of improvements and conclusions will be given.
