Abstract [en]

This book is a modern introduction to Stylistics, the discipline that study the linguistic features of a literary text. According to the latest methods and research perspectives, it is explained which tools are used by stylisticians to analyse the language and the style of a novel, a poem, a theatrical dialogue. With respect to the aim to link theory to practice, the principles of stylistics are applied to the analysis of three narrative passages (Manzoni, Gadda, Calvino), of three poetry (Petrarch, Pascoli, Montale) of a passage of a Pirandello's play.
