The research objective of the study is to offer a tentative survey for future, which
could figure out determinants of choosing vacation accommodation of Students at
Högskolan Dalarna. Under the research objective, this research focuses on two
research questions. The first research question is to figure out the choosing of hotels
by students at Högskolan Dalarna in their travelling. The following research question
is to identify key factors that could influence the choosing of vacation accommodation
of students at Högskolan Dalarna. After literature review regarding consumer decision
making include the concepts of consumer decision making, consumer decision
making in the hotel industry, consumer preference and consumer satisfaction, and the
consumer decision making framework, this research carries out a questionnaire which
could be used for further research. The questionnaire includes the investigation of
demographic information of the participators, their consuming behaviors during their
travelling, and items that might exert significant influences on their choosing of
vacation accommodation during their travelling. Determinants of choosing vacation
accommodation are identified as include four aspects: socio-economic influences,
cultural influences, family influences, and reference group influence via the consumer
decision making process of students at Högskolan Dalarna during their travelling. The
study could lay a good foundation for further researches, focusing on finding out
determinants of choosing vacation accommodation by students at Högskolan Dalarna.
