Abstract [sv]

Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att beskriva vilka faktorer som påverkararbetsrelaterad stress och hur det påverkar möjligheten till att ge en patientsäker vård.Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt och artiklar söktes via databasernaCINAHL och PubMed. De 14 inkluderade artiklarna resulterade i två teman och femsubteman som beskriver faktorer till arbetsrelaterad stress och dess effekter.Resultat: Graden av arbetsbelastning, brist på kommunikation och dåliga relationer på arbetetvar till stor del en bidragande orsak till arbetsrelaterad stress. Underbemanning gjorde attstressen ökade ytterligare hos de sjuksköterskor som arbetade och medförde dessutom en storrisk för utmattning eller utbrändhet. Tidspress gjorde att sjuksköterskor inte hann med viktigadelar i omvårdnaden. Fokus blev på att utföra praktiska uppgifter medan omvårdanden blevlidande. Dessa faktorer bidrog i hög grad till att patientsäkerheten äventyrades i form avsämre koncentrationsförmåga hos sjuksköterskan, vilket bland annat ledde till missad ellerbristfällig dokumentation och fel vid läkemedelshantering.Slutsats: Underbemanning och tidspress är i hög grad bidragande orsaker till attsjuksköterskor blir stressade och utbrända. Dessa faktorer gör det svårt att upprätthålla enevidensbaserad och patientsäker vård.

Abstract [en]

Aim: The aim of this literature review was to describe the factors that influence work-related stress and how it affects the ability to provide a safe patient care.Methods: The study was conducted through a literature review and the articles were searched through databases CINAHL and PubMed. The 14 included articles resulted in two themes and five subthemes that describes factors for work-related stress and its effects.Results: The degree of workload, lack of communication and poor relationships at work was largely a contributing cause of work-related stress. Staff shortages did increase stress to the nurses who worked and came with additionally high risk of exhaustion and burnout. Time pressure meant that nurses did not manage important aspects of nursing care. The focus was on carrying out practical tasks while patient care did suffer. These factors contributed greatly to the compromise of patient safety, in terms of the nurses reduced concentration, which among other things led to missed or failed documentation and medication errors.Conclusion: Staff shortages and time pressure is greatly contributing factors in nurses become stressed and burned out. These factors make it difficult to maintain an evidence-based and patient-safe care.
