Abstract [en]

This essay is centered around the hypothetical idea that objective tinnitus can be canceled out

with the properties of sound. This idea springs from the waveform of the sinustones. With a

microphone in the earcanal recording the objective tinnitus and with a loudspeaker in the

earcanal playing the reversedpolarity tinnitus. Due to that objective tinnitus is a rare form of

tinnitus this essay does not include an experiment with this idea. The essay is centered around

an interview with a technical audiolog with 37 years of experience in tinnitus and other

hearing related difficulties. The essay also includes three of the most common theories of

what tinnius is and why it manifest itself. A breef summary of different treatments of tinnitus

is also covered.
