    Abstract [sv]

    Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att bidra med en djupare förståelse för hur musik påverkar

    uppfattningen av en karaktär i en film. Uppsatsen jämför resultaten från de som studerar inom

    ämnet musikproduktion med de som studerar inom ämnet bildproduktion på Högskolan

    Dalarna. Den undersökning som har bedrivits var av både kvantitativ och kvalitativ karaktär.

    Deltagarna i undersökningen har fått se en filmsekvens i tre olika versioner. Först utan musik,

    sedan med skräckmusik och avslutningsvis med spänningsmusik. Undersökningen är baserad

    på Johnny Wingstedts teorier om hur vi påverkas av musiken i vår vardag. Beroende på vilken

    musik de fick höra i samband med klippen så påverkades deras uppfattning av både

    karaktären samt handlingen i filmen.

    Abstract [en]

    Sustainability is a subject which has got a lot of attention during recent years. Demand for businesses to take responsibility for the environment are rising as customers want more information about how companies work with environmental sustainability. It is mandatory since the year 2017 for large companies to disclose this information but for small companies it is still optional. The transport industry has a heavy impact on the environment but is still necessary in modern society, which makes it an interesting industry to study. The purpose of the essay is to examine Swedish transport companies view on sustainability disclosure and how it compares to environmental regulations. The method used in this essay is a qualitative method with four semistructured personal interviews and ten structured telephone interviews.Key findings are that the companies that take part in this essay present sustainability to their customers through reports but not in the financial statement. Sustainability disclosure is not perceived as an issue, environmental regulations such as the new Euroclasses have higher affect on the companies. The most important stakeholders for the companies are the customers, which makes customer relationship valuable.

    Omvårdnadsbehov hos anhörigvårdare till demenssjuka patienter2008Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Syftet med denna uppsats var att klargöra vilka omvårdnadsbehov anhörigvårdare till demenssjuka patienter hade. Vidare avsågs att evidensgradera dessa omvårdnadsbehov hos anhörigvårdare för dementa. Denna undersökning genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturstudie och omfattade en sammanställning av 16 kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar. Samtliga artiklar granskades efter två granskningsmönster modifierade efter förlagor av Forsberg och Wangström (2003) och Willman, Stoltz och Bahtsevani (2006), en modell för kvalitativa och en för kvantitativa artiklar, om 28 bedömningskriterier vardera. Av 16 artiklar låg 4 till underlag för evidensbedömning av fynd vilande på starkt vetenskapligt underlag, 7 utgjorde stöd för måttligt vetenskapligt underlag och 5 befanns ha otillräcklig vetenskaplig grund för att bidra till bevisvärde för resultatet i denna studie. För att evidensbestämma resultaten användes graderingskriterier enligt Bahtsevani (2008). Huvudresultatet manifesterade anhörigvårdares omvårdnadsbehov inom 3 områden: avlastning för anhörigvårdare, stöd från sjukvårdspersonalens sida samt information om demens. Resultatet hjälper anhörigvårdare att förstå sin situation och sina behov, vilket ökar deras livskvalitet. Resultatet diskuterades utgående från Orems omvårdnadsteoretiska referensram.

    Möjligheter och risker med sponsorsamarbeten: En studie om vad evenemang beaktar när de ingår sponsorsamarbeten2015Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to examine which possibilities and risks an event consider when

    they are entering a sponsorship agreement. The results show that the possibilities that were

    identified as the main part in a sponsorship agreement for the events included liquid assets or

    services. A second possibility that were identified is the sponsorship activation that the

    sponsor does which can create an additional value for the event towards their participants and

    spectators. A third possibility that was identified in this study was that the brand image

    transfer from the sponsor to the event makes it possible for the event to achieve image related

    advantages. A fourth possibility, which the events are not fully maximizing, is the opportunity

    that comes with co-branding outside the context of the events. The main reason for events to

    enter sponsorship agreements is not primarily to strengthen their brand image, other

    advantages that the event seeks are seen as the main reasons for the events to enter a

    sponsorship agreement. Therefore the events are not fully maximizing the opportunities that

    brand image transfer offers.

    The risks that events recognize in a sponsorship agreement primarily consist of image-related

    risks. A risk is that an undesired brand image transfer may transfer from the sponsor to the

    event and that the events has a hard time to effect any harmful activities that the sponsor may

    do outside of the sponsorship context, which can harm the event by negative associations.

    Events acknowledge the risks in a sponsorship agreements and one of the events in this study

    says that a sponsorship agreement consists of many risks but that they need to take some risks,

    because without any sponsors the event would be very dull. Despite the risks, the events are

    entering sponsorship agreements because the possibilities outweigh the risks they are taking.

    The events in our study was chosen because they are some of the biggest and most wellknown

    events in Sweden that occur at a yearly basis, and additionally because they were

    considered to have knowledge and experiences about the possibilities and risks that comes

    with agreeing sponsorship deals. Qualitative method was the methodological choice of this

    study and we used semi-structured interviews to collect data and to learn about the

    experiences that our respondents had in the area of which possibilities and risks events are

    considering when entering a sponsorship agreement.

    Hur sjuksköterskor kommunicerar och bemöter patienter med demenssjukdom: en litteraturstudie2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis

    Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor bemöter och kommunicerar med patienter med demenssjukdom. Författarna använde sig utav sökmotorn Elin och databasen Cinahl. Använda sökord var: Dementia, Treatment, Care, Nurse*, Nursing, Communication i olika kombinationer. Till resultatet användes 17 vetenskapliga artiklar som var publicerade mellan år 2000 och 2010 och var engelskspråkiga. Litteraturstudien bestod av elva kvalitativa och sex kvantitativa artiklar. Artiklarnas kvalitet värderades med hjälp av granskningsmallar. Resultatet visade att dåligt bemötande och kommunikation förekom från sjuksköterskor till patienter med demenssjukdom. Sjuksköterskor tilltalade patienter med demenssjukdom på ett infantilt språk och andra ignorerade dem. Metoder och råd kring hur sjuksköterskor kan bemöta och kommunicera med patienter med demenssjukdom fanns. Bland annat framkom att när sjuksköterskor använde sig utav personcentrerad vård ökade både positiv verbal och icke-verbal kommunikation hos patienterna med demenssjukdom. Kommunikationen ökade även när sjuksköterskorna använde sig utav metoden Snozelen, lika så genom att använda sig utav en 12- sidig minnesbok som stöd vid samtal. Stöd och hjälp från sjuksköterskan, främjar kommunikationen för patienter med demenssjukdom.

    Abstract [en]

    This study examines early experiences of literacy described by unaccompanied minors from Afghanistan who are now following a general program of studies at a college of further education (folkhögskola) in Sweden. Their studies are conducted at a secondary and upper secondary school level. All of the participants are subject to the Swedish legislation applying to residence permission and participation in upper secondary education The experiences of literacy taken up here are reader biografies comprising picture collage and short text passages. The analysis is based on the biografies of 12 participants, illustrating various activities experienced during their respective childhoods, some of which are related to literacy, others not. The activities are presented in the form of illustrations and text along a timeline.  In the results section, the experiences described in the reader biografies are presented in terms of four categories: literacy and education, multimodal literacy and literacy mediating related to the theoretical background of this study.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of the study was to examine how social workers at the unit for financial assistance look at the preventive work with families receiving financial assistance, to prevent the children from becoming beneficiaries themselves in the future. The study was based on a qualitative approach, where semi-structured interviews was used as method for data collection. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the collected material. The result of the study shows that the social workers believe that the preventive work should focus on the parents, by assisting them to as soon as possible reach self-sufficiency and support them to be good role models for their children. Further, the result show that the social workers wish to work more preventive, but that a reorganization in the municipality is required to enable an effective preventive work.

    Abstract [en]

    Since the 1990s, public organizations underwent several major changes that led to unit managers within the municipal activity increased responsibility and authority, making the unit manager role more complex. Reports indicate difficulties in recruiting and retaining managers. Therefore, it is important to examine how the Head of Unit's, work to develop a more attractive job role. An attractive role is created by giving employees good prospects in the job content, job satisfaction and working conditions. The manager’s positon includes three roles of which the employee role of the theory is not especially priority or made visible. The study aims to identify what makes the unit manager’s profession an attractive job, and how it can be developed. In the study, a qualitative research method has been used to achieve a deeper understanding of the Heads of Unit working situation. This has contributed to a hermeneutic approach being chosen, as we strive to get a better understanding of the phenomenon. The study was conducted in the municipality of Falun, where six heads of units in nursing management were interviewed. The result shows that unit managers are satisfied with their work situation and find their work attractive. Factors as diverse as, freedom, problem solving, social contacts, and portions of the recognition belong to the attractive factors. Heads of Unit describe, three development areas to increase the attractiveness. The first relates to the organization as a whole, where weaknesses exist in the communications and planning. Other development area is about the pace of work by personalizing the working groups as well as time for reflection and recuperation. The third development field the unit managers highlight, is the lack of recognition from the organization. Besides the Heads of Unit shortcomings, we have identified a development area to increase the attractiveness. Lack of colleagues to "bounce ideas" means that work is perceived as lonely. To counteract loneliness we can manage group guidance as an alternative, where reflection and feedback is included. The theory indicate that this also leads to increased self-esteem, commitment.

    Motivation in English language acquisition: English as a foreign language in upper secondary school2015Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    This study is about students’ motivation to learn English and the aim is to find out if their scores on the national test can be correlated with their reported level of motivation. As English has become a global language, it is taught in Swedish school as an obligatory subject. When speaking about learning English, it is common to approach the subject of what motivates students to learn. Theories developed on the subject suggest that there are different kinds of motivation and this thesis focuses on integrative and instrumental motivation and the L2 motivational system, which have been said to be important aspects of motivation. The study was done by handing out a questionnaire to 45 students in an upper secondary school, containing statements and questions about their motivation to learn English, and then comparing their answers with their grades. When analyzing the results, it was found that there is a correlation between the answers to the statements and the students’ scores on the national test. The lower scoring students showed more tendencies to disagree with the statements while the higher scoring students more often agreed. These findings suggest that motivation can have a visible effect on students’ performance in English.

    Det här är en studie om svensklärares attityd till grammatikundervisning. Jag har undersökt vad några svensklärare på gymnasieskolor i Mellansverige har för uppfattning om grammatik, deras egen grammatikundervisning, och grammatik i styrdokumenten. För att försöka svara på frågeställningarna har sex stycken semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts med svensklärare på några olika skolor i området. Intervjuerna har visat att det finns skilda åsikter bland de medverkande lärarna kring frågor om deras egen erfarenhet av grammatik, deras undervisning, grammatikens roll i svenskämnet och styrdokumentens behandling av grammatiken. Det upptäcktes även likheter i, till exempel, deras uppfattningar om grammatikens nytta och det faktum att de flesta var missnöjda med styrdokumenten samt att elevernas förkunskaper när de börjar på gymnasiet inte alltid är tillräckliga. Studiens resultat ger en inblick i några svensklärares attityder till grammatikundervisning, men är inte generaliserbar och speglar inte hur alla svensklärares åsikter ser ut.

    Abstract [en]

    This study’s aim is to investigate what research in the field of grammar shows about attitudes toward grammar teaching, and if the grammar teaching in the present time is satisfactory. This study is a systematic literature study and contains database searching to find scientific studies and theses. The result found in this study shows that research in the field is very thin and not updated in the most recent years. The first research question is about attitudes towards grammar teaching, and several of the results show that grammar has a bad reputation and is often perceived as boring and difficult, and that this view of grammar often can correlate to classrooms where traditional grammar teaching is used. Amongst teachers, many of them find grammar hard to justify to their students. The second research question is about how well grammar teaching works in our time. This is difficult to find an answer to since the research is not very extensive in the field, but judging by the negative attitudes towards the subject, there seem to be room for improvement

    Det övergripande syftet med studien är att få kunskap om vad det är som gör att elever som studerar svenska för invandrare (sfi) väljer att gå på praktik. Jag vill också veta hur deras erfarenheter ser ut när det kommer till möjligheten om lärande och interaktion på dessa praktikplatser. Till studien används en kvalitativ metod med samtalsintervjuer som undersökningsmetod. För undersökningen samlas data in från andraspråkselever genom intervjuer. Detta på grund av att i intervjuer finns det möjligheter för deltagarna att relativt fritt kan berätta utifrån de frågorna eller teman som jag har tagit upp. Uppsatsen lyfter fram relationen mellan triangelbegreppen, praktik, lärande och interaktion på praktikplatsen. Informanternas uppfattning visar att det finns en ömsesidig relation mellan de tre begreppen, men systemet kan variera från skola till skola eller praktikplats till praktikplats. Innan att eleverna går på praktik borde de ha en tillräcklig hög nivå i det svenska språket för att möjliggöra och motivera både elever och personal på arbetsplatsen att skapa en interaktiv miljö. Informanterna beskriver hur bristen på svenska på arbetsplatsen kan vara ett hinder för informanternas integration. Detta skiljer sig mellan olika informanter i och med att det finns olika åsikter som beror på elevernas bakgrund och tänkande.

    Abstract [en]

    Internal control is something that’s grown more important for enterprises to keep in mind. The community is increasingly affected by the IT-development which demands a bigger degree of security. Enterprises needs to make sure that their systems are up to date and secure enough to keep it safe from unauthorized to take part of sensitive information. Internal control can exist in a major part of the work. If an enterprise have a goal for no harm or serious injury at work, internal control is necessary to reach that goal.

    The purpose for this essay is to examine how five different departments of Trafikverket practices internal control. How internal control is described. How the guidance from the managements is described and how it reaches the rest of the enterprise. This will lead to a proposal of improvement of the internal control at Trafikverket.

    We focus our frame of reference on the COSO-model and its five components. The components included in the COSO-model are control environment, risk valuation, control activities, information and communication and monitoring.

    The essay is a case-study of Trafikverket. We have chosen a qualitative method and interviewed five respondents from the different departments on Trafikverket. The respondents we interviewed works with internal control in their everyday work or have a god insight in the subject. We used a semi structured interview guide with questions based on the COSO framework.

    The results from our study shows that it exist big variations between how the departments work with internal control. It emerged that there are new guidelines for how the work should be done. This makes it necessary with education to implement the new ways to work. How the departments use the COSO-model varies. Some of them have incorporated the model in their new ways to work others have never heard of it.

    The conclusion of our study shows that the COSO-model and it´s components contribute to a functioning internal control. Implementing the components is important and the most important feature to good internal control is the corporate management. Education within the enterprise is the most effective way to inform the staff about the model and to implement it.

    quickly. The alarming increase of average temperature of the earth has caused much worry

    around the world. Gas emissions in the atmosphere greatly affect the environment, where

    CO

    2 emissions is one of the most serious factors contributing to the global warming

    potential. As the building sector emits 40% of global energy use and one-third of global

    greenhouse gas emissions, engineers must be educated to choose the best materials that

    lead to reducing CO

    2 emissions. This means selecting materials that have less negative

    impact on the environment and are more “environmentally friendly”.

    This study shows how much CO

    2e emissions are released into the atmosphere from a

    wooden structure villa that consists of two stories, a storage and a garage, with a total area

    of 229.6m2. The results of this case will be compared to a second case, where the external

    wooden siding is replaced with brick veneer. This result of this comparison provides us

    with a guideline in for how the selected materials impact the environment, illuminating the

    importance in choosing the right materials according to their CO

    2e emission levels. In this

    way, the building sector can actively work to reduce the environmental impact.

    To achieve these goals, this study performed via life cycle assessment LCA methodology

    by using the One-Click LCA program. LCA is identified as a technique to assess the

    environmental impact and resources used through a product’s life cycle. This study utilized

    the LCA methodology (cradle to grave), which means starting from the extraction of raw

    materials, to product production, manufacturing, product usage and its end of life. The

    study lifespan was estimated to be 50 years.

    The results of the study verify that the wooden villa is more environmentally friendly than

    the villa made of brick, where carbon dioxide equivalent emission can be reduced to more

    than half by utilizing wood. Implementing the life cycle assessment study to any building

    aids in making the decision to choose the right materials for building according to CO

    2e

    emission. And in this way, the environmental impact caused by the building sector will be

    greatly reduced.

    تثير فينا قصة "عطر الوردة" لميسلون هادي الرغبة لتأمل حالة البيئة في ظل الأوضاع المعادية للبيئة. فالتدمير، في العراق، لم يقتصر على الإنسان والجوانب المادية وإنما طال حتى البيئة. الحرب المتواصلة منذ سنوات، نشرتْ آلاف الأطنان من المواد السامة على هذا البلد، فلم تنجُ البيئة من التلوث الذي طال الماء والهواء والأرض وجميع المخلوقات. والقصة تتحدث عن هذه الكارثة من خلال النحل وثورته على الإنسان ومحاصرته في منزله وخلف نوافذه. الحرب إذن حاضرة بوصفها سببا ونتيجة لكلّ هذا التدمير الذي أصاب البيئة

    Abstract [en]

    Violence directed against women, most of which occurs in the form of violence in close relationships, is a reflection of uneven power structure between men and women. Thus violence against women is considered a power exercise, where women's rights and fundamental freedoms are subjected to violation. Violence may contain hidden forms, which occurs when these forms are not named or defined. These forms are rarely involved in physical violence and therefore they remain invisible.

    The purpose of this paper is to increase the knowledge about how women of different backgrounds resonate and define the hidden forms of violence, namely psychological, controlling and sexual violence. In addition, we want to investigate whether the socialization process can affect women's attitude towards the various forms of violence.

    The empirical material consists of individual interviews with six women with different backgrounds. Based on the radical phenomenon and family violence perspective, which constitutes central perspective for this paper, as well as the hermeneutic and thematic analysis method, we have analyzed the empirical data of the study.

    The results show that women's socialization relative to men can be influenced by both the social heritage and social learning. It also appears that the women in some respects have definitional difficulties in some forms of violence. In addition, it appears that women's attitude to different forms of violence is influenced by a number of factors, not least the social heritage, which is a recurring theme in the empirical material.

    Incorporating Solar Energy Into an Aluminium Smelter’s Energy Mix: A study using Aluminium Bahrain2017Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    This thesis was aimed at studying the possibility of integrating solar energy in to an existing aluminium smelter in the Kingdom of Bahrain owned by Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA). The smelter was powered by its own in-house natural gas fed power plants. ALBA was chosen as the subject of the study for of two reasons. Firstly, the power station at ALBA was similar in technology to those powering the national grid. Secondly, the nominal power of ALBA was not dissimilar to that of the national grid. This meant that the techniques and technologies investigated were useful in the context of the national grid as well. A literature review was initially conducted to better understand how the current aluminium smelters work, what the possibilities were for introducing solar energy and what has been done previously. The study used publically available information to deduce the energy consumption of the ALBA smelter on an annual basis. For the year 2011 this was found to be in the order of 15.2TWh when ALBA had 2,249MW of nominal plant capacity installed and had consumed about 132MMBCF of natural gas. With the planned pot-line 6 expansion an additional 1,792MW capacity would be added with the corresponding additional gas use and increased energy output. The completion of pot-line 6, scheduled for Q1 2019, would also make ALBA the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter.  This energy demand information was then used with PVSyst and System Advisor Model simulation software. The aim was to determine what photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP) energy plants capable of meeting ALBA’s needs would be in terms of power, energy outputs and land usage. Although powering a modern aluminium smelter is possible with today’s solar technology, the area of land required would be very large. It was deduced that using PV fixed tilt arrays, a PV plant of 9.2GWp would be required to deliver the annual energy requirements of ALBA covering a theoretical land area of some 200km2. Utilising CSP plants of central tower and concentric heliostat design would need about 358km2 whereas parabolic trough collector technology would need about 240km2. However a CSP plant utilising linear Fresnel collectors would need about 105km2 of land area. These contiguous land areas are not available in the Kingdom of Bahrain and so alternatives would have to be studied for locating such plants. Another issue would be to find a robust and reliable storage technology to power the plant during the evenings and other times of low solar resource.  It was found that the existing roof areas of ALBA’s pot-lines and cast house would be sufficient to house a PV plant of 6.5MWp utilising standard 250Wp PV modules. This would be larger than the largest plant currently installed in the country which stands at 5MWp developed by Bapco. The plant would produce some 9.7GWh of energy per average year and could be utilised by ALBA. Alternatively, the PV plant could be connected directly to the national grid and thus provide another source of income to ALBA whilst helping in the national drive for harnessing renewable energy. It should be noted that there are more suitable roof areas available at ALBA meaning that the PV plant size could be larger and if more powerful modules are used, the nominal plant capacity would also be increased delivering more annual energy. Due mainly to time constraints, it was not possible to investigate some areas that were highlighted during the course of the study. These included plant costs, energy storage options, modelling and simulating CSP derived heat injection into gas power turbines, water usage requirements and mitigation techniques and the technologies for maintaining the collectors clean and reflective in the harsh desert climate of the country. These are all areas for further work.

    Dokumentärberättelser om utsatthet är fängslande i beaktande att de berör sociohistoriska händelser om människors livsöden. Det övergripande syftet med denna studie är att genom en semiotisk bildanalys av dokumentärproduktionerna

    He named me Malala (2015), Exodus: Our Journey to Europe (2016) och Min oro (2017) studera hur berättelser om utsatthet skildras i dokumentärfilm. Studiens huvudsakliga frågor kretsade kring: Hur gestaltas utsatthet genom bildkomposition? Vilka metoder bidrar till att tittare kan knyta an till de framställda aktörerna? och På vilket sätt presenteras aktörerna i dokumentärfilm -som offer eller som handlingskraftiga?

    Resultatet visade att filmmakarnas val av berättarkomponenter tydligt framhäver handlingskraften hos de framställda aktörerna. Således blev slutsatsen att de berörda framställs som mångfacetterade människor, som har besegrat ett mödofyllt livsöde trots att de hamnar i offerstatus i samhället. Detta har till följd att åskådaren kan knyta an till dem vederbörande oavsett skillnader i produktionsförhållanden.

    Studiens syfte är att undersöka de IKT med fokus på digitala verktyg som lärare använder i matematikundervisning idag och vilka mål de har med att integrera digitala verktyg. I studien presenteras olika digitala verktyg som används i matematikundervisning, följt av en kort analys.

    Studiens genomfördes genom intervjuer med åtta lärare som undervisar matematik för elever (7-9) och gymnasiet (kurser i grundnivå (7-9)/introduktionsprogrammet). Intervjuerna skedde genom träff (muntliga intervjuer) eller genom mejl(datorstödda intervjuer).

    Studien lyfter fram lärarens roll i elevens lärande med och utan digitala verktyg. Lärarna som har deltagit i studien har olika erfarenheter, arbetssätt och olika syn på användning av digitala verktyg i matematikundervisning. Vissa lärare tycker att det är värdefullt att integrera digitala verktyg i matematikundervisning och att det kan motivera eleverna samt komplettera det som görs i klassrummet. Matematiklärare som väljer att integrera digitala verktyg i undervisningen gör det för att t.ex. att öka elevernas motivation, skapa ökad måluppfyllelse och underlätta lärarens arbete. Andra visar inte samma intresse för användning av digitala verktyg. De senare anser att matematikundervisning med digitala verktyg inte kan säkerställa elevernas förståelse av ämnets innehåll. Enligt dessa mattelärare är digitala verktyg endast ett komplement till den traditionella undervisningen.

    Denna studie handlar om hur bildlärare i grundskolans senare år arbetar med digitala verktyg i

    bildundervisningen. I studien deltar sex bildlärare som alla har lång erfarenhet från bildundervisning.

    Med intervjuer som underlag visade det sig att det finns digital teknik i samtliga skolor

    där de arbetar. Det som däremot är ett problem är den avsaknad av digital kompetensutveckling

    för dessa lärare. Det som jag imponeras av är att majoriteten av dessa bildlärare försöker

    på egen hand att undervisa digitalt. De svarar att de har tekniken men den varierar i antal

    och funktion. De gör så gott de kan med den teknik som finns. Detta innebär också att eleverna

    i dagens skola inte har en likvärdig utbildning i bildämnet. En del skolor är välutrustade,

    en del inte. Undervisningen varierar också beroende på bildlärarens digitala kompetens.

    Abstract [en]

    The mobility of people, freight and information is fundamental to economic and social activities such as commuting, manufacturing, distributing consumer goods and supplying energy. There are two major problems that arise as a result of mobility. The first is economic cost and the second is environmental impact which is of increasing concern in sustainable development due to emission levels, particularly as a result of car use. This study focuses on constructing a network of induced emissions (NOIEs) by using three models and checking the robustness of NOIEs under varying parameters and models. The three models are Stead’s model, the NAEI model, and Oguchi’s model. This study uses the Swedish city of Borlänge as the case study.

    Calculating CO2 emissions by constructing the NOIEs using Stead’s model appears to give an underestimation when compared to results from a NOIEs which applies Oguchi’s model. Results when applying the NAEI model in constructing a NOIEs also give an underestimation compared to a NOIEs applying Oguchi’s model. Applying the NAEI model is, however, more accurate than applying Stead’s model in constructing a NOIEs.

    The outcomes of this study show that constructing a NOIEs is robust using Oguchi’s model. This model is preferable since it takes into account more important variables such as driving behavior and the length of the road segments which have a significant impact when estimating CO2 emissions.

    This thesis is based on a survey within a global organization. The purpose of the study is to

    elucidate and describe an HR department's experience of the psychosocial work environment.

    The starting point for this survey is that there are known factors that affect the psychosocial

    work environment. Furthermore, the study aimed to motivate the organization to work with

    the psychosocial work environment.

    The theory is that these factors are based on assumption that the psychosocial work

    environment is affected by excessive workload, lack of control, lack of recognition,

    community at work, role conflicts and conflicts of values (Åsberg, Grape, Nygren, Rohde,

    Wahlberg, & Währborg, 2010) (Thylefors, 2011). Skills and ability to influence the

    workplace are also important factors (Wreder, 2007). Knowledge, communication and good

    leadership is therefore the foundation for a viable psychosocial work environment.

    The survey is based on a deductive approach, in which participants initially putting a value of

    factors through a quantitative survey, for a few weeks later to discuss the factors of

    qualitative focus groups. The purpose of the survey was to obtain an anonymous individual

    estimation of the experience, while the purpose of the focus groups was to obtain deeper

    information about the experience and how employees perceive that the psychosocial work

    environment can be improved.

    The results were interpreted based on the theory and several factors had the potential to be

    improved. To conduct an adequate work environment, it is important to identify the factors

    and work with them in a way that the employees perceive current. Furthermore, it is

    important for the organisations to work with the psychosocial working from an organizational

    perspective, and not just primarily the individual perspective.

    Påverkar vår personlighet de utbildningsval vi gör i livet? Denna fråga ligger till grund för studien som gjordes på ekonom- och sjuksköterskestudenter på Uppsala Universitet. I studien deltog 120 personer och undersökningsdeltagarna (Ud) var jämnt fördelade mellan ekonomer/sjuksköterskor och kvinnor/män. Studien genomfördes genom att Ud fick svara på 48 stycken påståenden som utgick från Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI). Tidigare forskning har påvisat skillnader i personlighet mellan ekonom- och vårdstudenter. Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det fanns någon skillnad i personlighet mellan ekonom- och sjuksköterskestudenter. Studien visade inga signifikanta skillnader i personlighet mellan studentgrupperna. Den slutsats som drogs i denna studie, var att vår personlighet inte påverkar utbildningsvalen ekonom- och sjuksköterska.
