Studiens syfte är att undersöka om och hur utredningstexter som rör vårdnad, boende och umgänge förverkligar barns delaktighet. Vi har använt oss av kvalitativ metod och studiens empiri består av 12 utredningstexter som rör vårdnads-, boende- och umgängesutredningar. Materialet har analyserats med tematisk analys och diskuterats mot bakgrund av teorier om barns rätt att bli hörda enligt artikel 12 i barnkonventionen samt barns delaktighet i rättsprocesser som rör vårdnad, boende och umgänge. Av resultatet har framkommit att barn görs delaktiga i viss mån. Deras åsikter synliggörs och deras inställning efterfrågas men i utredningstextens bedömning beskrivs sällan barnets åsikt. Av resultaten framkommer även att utredningen ofta inte beskriver förberedandet av barnet inför hörandet eller överlämnandet av information till barnet rörande deras rättigheter.

The purpose of the study is to investigate whether investigations concerning custody, housing and socialization realize children's participation. We have used a qualitative method and the study's empirical data consists of 12 custody, accommodation and social investigation texts. The material has been analyzed with a thematic analysis and discussed in the light of theories about children's right to be heard pursuant to Article 12 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and children's participation in legal proceedings relating to custody, housing and socializing. The result has shown that children are involved to a certain extent. Their opinions are made visible and requested, but in the investigation's assessment, the child's opinion is rarely described. The results show that the investigation often does not describe the preparation of the child before the hearing or the giving of information to the child regarding their rights.
