Bakgrund: Begreppet personcentrerad vård har både nationellt och internationellt vuxit fram och skapat en beskrivning av god omvårdnad för varje enskild patient. Om sjukvården är organiserad med ett fokus på patienten som en individ blir den mer effektiv och ökar patienternas delaktighet och engagemang. Patienters möjlighet att ta del i beslut som handlar om deras vård förbättras och deras återhämtningsförmåga stärks när sjuksköterskor tillämpar personcentrerad vård. Totalt 13 av 21 regioner i Sverige har beslut om att skapa förutsättningar för personcentrerad vård, dock beskriver flertalet regioner olika utmaningar för att kunna implementera personcentrerad vård. Några av dessa är att sjuksköterskor önskar att de fick mer stöd från sjukvårdsledningen samt att det finns andra omständigheter som kan försvåra arbetet med personcentrerad vård såsom kommunikationsbrist mellan patient och sjuksköterska. Det är därför viktigt att belysa patienters syn på personcentrerad vård.  Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva patienters erfarenheter av personcentrerad vård inom somatisk vård. Metod: En litteraturöversikt, vars resultat baserades på 18 vetenskapliga artiklar från databaserna CINAHL, PsycINFO och PubMed. Resultat: Två huvudkategorier identifierades i resultatet. Dessa var patienters erfarenheter av relationen mellan patient och sjuksköterska och patienters erfarenheter av att bli sedd och behandlad som en unik individ. Slutsats: Relationen mellan patient och sjuksköterska var en central aspekt som hade stor betydelse för patienternas välbefinnande och vård. Att bli sedd och behandlad som en unik individ visade sig genom att få berätta sin historia, få stöd att hantera sin sjukdom och genom att få möjlighet till delaktighet och självbestämmande. Personcentrerad vård kan bidra till att patienter får ett gott bemötande, blir sedda och respekterade.

Background: The concept of person-centered care has grown nationally and internationally and created a description of good care for every individual. If the healthcare system is organized with a focus on the patient as an individual the care becomes more efficient and it also increases the patients participation and engagement. When nurses practice person-centered care it enhances the resilience for the patients and improves the possibility of being involved in decisions aboout their own care. In total 13 of 21 regions in Sweden has decisions about creating requisite for person-centered care, although a majority of the regions describes different challenges that comes with implementing person-centered care. Some of these challenges are that nurses wish that they got more support from the management, and there are other circumstances that can obstruct the work with person-centered care, such as insufficient communication between patient and nurse. It is therefore important to highlight the patients view on person-centered care. Aim: The aim of this literature review was to describe patients experiences of person-centered care in somatic care. Method: A literature review, based on 18 scientific articles from the three databases CINAHL, PsycINFO and PubMed.  Results: Two main categories were identified in the results. These main categories were experiences of the relationship between patient and nurse and experiences of being seen and treated as a unique individual. Conclusion: The relationship between patient and nurse was a central aspect that had great meaning for the patients well being and care. To be seen as a unique individual was shown through being able to tell their story, get support to handle the disease and through having possibilities to autonomy and participation. Personcentered care can contribute to patients getting a good treatment, being respected and being seen.
