Bakgrund: Sjukvårdspersonal är ofta bärare av mikroorganismer vid inkorrekt handhygien och vidtagna hygienrutiner. Bristande vårdhygien hos sjukvårdspersonal gör att smittspridningen ökar och risken att drabbas av vårdrelaterade infektioner, resistenta bakterier och risk för patientlidande ökar.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskors följsamhet till hygienrutiner.Metod: Litteraturöversikten baseras på 15 artiklar varav sju var kvalitativa och sex var kvantitativa samt två med mixad metod. Sökningarna utfördes i databaserna CINAHL och PubMed, kvalitetsgranskades och analyserades utifrån fem steg.Resultat: I resultatet framkommer faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskans följsamhet till hygienrutiner där de främsta faktorerna är attityder, kunskap, barriärer, förutsättningar samt motivation.Slutsats: Konsekvenser av låg följsamhet av hygienrutiner är patientlidande relaterat till ökandet av vårdrelaterade infektioner. Förebyggande insatser mot faktorer som påverkar är av stor vikt, och krävs av samtliga som arbetar inom hälso- och sjukvård.

Background: Healthcare professionals are often carriers of microorganisms in the event of incorrect hand hygiene and hygiene routines taken. Lack of healthcare hygiene among healthcare professionals increases the spread of infection and increases the risk of suffering from healthcare-associated infections, resistant bacteria and the risk of patient suffering.Aim: The aim of the study is to describe factors that affect nurses` compliance with hygiene routines.Methods: The literature review was written with 15 articles using qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods. The articles were searched through the databases CINAHL and PubMed, were quality reviewed and analyzed in five steps.Results: The results show factors that affect nurse’s compliance to hygiene routines where the main factors are attitudes, knowledge, barriers, prerequisites and incentive.Conclusion: The consequence of low compliance to hygiene routines is patient suffering related to the increase in care-related infections. Preventive measures towards influencing factors are of great importance and are required of all health care workers.
