Bakgrund: Palliativ vård är utvecklad för att förebygga samt lindra lidande och främja en god livskvalitet samt död i livets slut både för patient och närstående. Det är vanligt att närstående agerar som kontaktperson med vården. Detta är en viktig faktor för att den palliativa vården skall kunna fungera i hemmet. För att vården ska bli så personcentrarad som möjligt är det viktigt som vårdpersonal att se till inte bara patientens men även de närståendes olika behov.Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva närståendes upplevelser av palliativ vård vid livets slutskede i hemmet.Metod: Denna studie var en litteraturöversikt som baserats på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar. Artiklarna är publicerade mellan 2010–2021 och är sökta i databaserna CINAHL och PubMed. Likheter och skillnader i artiklarnas resultat gav sex teman som svarar på litteraturstudiens syfte.Resultat: De teman som ligger till underlag för resultatet är Tillit och trygghet, Relation till vårdpersonalen, Tillfredsställelse, Information och kommunikation, Bristande samordning och stress och Okunskap och osäkerhet. Den palliativa vården i hemmet upplevdes både positivt och negativt av de närstående. Det upplevdes brister vid information och kommunikation till de närstående. En god relation till vårdpersonalen ökar tryggheten för de närstående.Slutsats: Upplevelsen av den palliativa vården varierar hos de närstående och det är därför viktigt att informera samt inkludera de närstående så mycket som möjligt i den palliativa vården för en ökad livskvalitet.

Background: Palliative care is developed to prevent and alleviate suffering and promote a good quality of life and death at the end of life for both patient and relatives. The relatives, which often acts as a contact person with the care system, are also an essential factor in palliative care being able to function in the home. Therefore, for the care to be as person-centered as possible, it is vital to ensure the patient’s and relatives’ different needs.Aim: The aim is to describe relatives' experiences of palliative care at the end of life in the home.Method: This study is a literature review based on 15 scientific articles. Included articles are published between 2010-2021 searched in the CINAHL and PubMed databases. Similarities and differences in the articles yielded six themes that respond to the purpose of this literature study.Results: The themes that form the basis for the result are Trust and security, Relationship with healthcare professionals, Satisfaction, Information and communication, Lack of coordination and stress and Ignorance and uncertainty. Palliative care in the home was experienced both positively and negatively by the relatives. Experiences of shortcomings in information and communication towards the relatives, and a good relationship with the healthcare professionals increase the security for the relatives.Conclusion: Palliative care experience varies amongst the relatives, and it is therefore essential to inform and include the relatives as much as possible in the palliative care for an extended quality of life.
