Bakgrund: Kommunikation är en utav hörnstenarna i palliativ vård både nationellt och internationellt. I palliativ vård och med en begränsad tid kvar är det extra viktigt med en fungerande kommunikation mellan sjuksköterskan och personen med palliativ vård. Kommunikation är en avgörande faktor i alla relationer inom vård och omsorg. Kunskap och erfarenhet av kommunikation upplevs och tas emot individuellt. Kommunikation består utav flera viktiga faktorer och kan se olika ut. Sjuksköterskans förhållningssätt och kroppsspråk är lika viktig som den verbala kommunikationen.Syfte: Syftet är att identifiera faktorer som har samband med kommunikationen mellan sjuksköterskor och personer med palliativ vård.Metod: Resultatet i litteraturöversikten grundar sig på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar publicerade mellan år 2006 och 2021. Artiklarna söktes fram via PubMed och CINAHL.Resultat: Resultatet visar tre huvudkategorier med nio subkategorier. Första huvudkategorin är kompetens där grundläggande kompetens samt fördjupad kompetens är subkategorier. Andra huvudkategorin är verktyg i kommunikation med subkategorierna tekniska hjälpmedel, samtalsstrategier, tid och samtalsmodeller. Tredje huvudkategorin är upplevelser av kommunikationen med subkategorierna lugn och trygg miljö, kommunikation genom kroppsspråk och kulturella perspektiv. I resultatet framkom även att kommunikation upplevdes vara en viktig komponent för personcentrerad vård.Slutsats: Bristande kompetens hos sjuksköterskan, tidsbrist och kulturella skillnader är försvårande faktorer i en kommunikation inom palliativ vård. Däremot är fördjupad kompetens, lugn och trygg miljö, kroppsspråk, samtalsstrategier, samtalsmodeller samt tekniska hjälpmedel faktorer som underlättar för en fungerande kommunikation. En skräddarsydd personcentrerad kommunikation utifrån resultatet mellan sjuksköterskor och personer med palliativ vård kan hjälpa personen att lättare acceptera sin situation samt kunna känna trygghet och välbefinnande.

Background: Communication is one of the cornerstones of palliative care both nationally and internationally. In palliative care and with a limited time left, it is extra important to have effective communication between the nurse and the person with palliative care. Communication is a crucial factor in all relationships in health and care. Knowledge and experience of communication is experienced and received individually. Communication consists of several important factors and can look different. The nurse's attitude and body language are as important as the verbal communication.Aim: The purpose is to identify factors that are related to the communication between nurses and people with palliative care.Method: The results in the literature review are based on 15 scientific articles published between 2006 and 2021. The articles were searched for in PubMed and CINAHL.Results: The result shows three main categories with nine subcategories. The first main category is competence, where basic competence and in-depth competence are subcategories. The second main category is tools in communication with the subcategory’s technical aids, conversation strategies, time and conversation models. The third main category is experiences of communication with the subcategories calm and safe environment, communication through body language and cultural perspectives. The results also showed that communication was perceived as an important component for person-centered care.Conclusion: Lack of competence in the nurse, lack of time and cultural differences are aggravating factors in communication in palliative care. On the other hand, in-depth competence, calm and safe environment, body language, conversational strategies, conversational models, and technical aids are factors that facilitate a functioning communication. Tailor-made person-centered communication based on the results between nurses and people with palliative care can help the person to accept their situation and be able to feel safe and well-being more easily.
