Abstract [sv]

Det föreligger en kunskapslucka gällande vilka metoder i skolan som är effektiva för att förebygga missbruk bland ungdomar. Genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med sex yrkesverksamma inom högstadiet och gymnasiet har skolpersonalens uppfattning om det förebyggande arbetet undersökts, med fokus på utmaningar och möjligheter. Uppsatsen hade en abduktiv ansats och resultatet analyserades med en tematisk analys. De teorier som uppsatsen utgått från är den sociala inlärningsteorin, stämplingsteorin, samt systemteorin. Det väsentliga som lyfts fram ur intervjuerna var att ungdomen försöker skapa sin identitet och att detta kan leda till fel umgängen. Teman som togs upp var en trygg skolmiljö, att ungdomen har en relation till en vuxen skolpersonal, informativa metoder, samverkan med andra instanser samt omgivningens roll exempelvis fritidsgårdar. I enlighet med forskningen visar diskussionen att exempelvis en trygg skolmiljö är en fungerande metod, att det finns möjligheter och hinder med informativa metoder och att trygga relationer till skolpersonal är väsentligt.

Abstract [en]

There is a knowledge gap found in the preventive methods that the schools use for preventing substance abuse. Through conducting six semi-structured interviews with school staff working at secondary schools, questions have been asked about the staff´s perception on the current prevention work. Focus have been on the challenges and opportunities they encounter. The essay had an abductive approach and a thematic analysis of results. Theories used to analyse the collected data consists of social learning theory, stamping theory and the system theory. The most common subject in the interview revolved around adolescences trying to find their identity whilst encountering wrong kind of relationships. The key themes brought up was a safe environment in school, that the adolescences had a relationship to a school staff, informative methods, cooperation with other instances and the surrounding´s role outside of school, for example youth recreation centres. The discussion shows, in accordance with research, that a safe environment is a functioning method. It also showed that there is both challenges and opportunities with informative methods and that a safe relationship to the school staff is essential as a preventive method.
