The purpose of the present study was to examine the experiences of school counselors and teachers regarding collaboration, as well as to identify facilitating and complicating/hindering factors in their collaboration. The study addressed three research questions and employed a qualitative method, utilizing seven interviews with four school counselors and three teachers in four different municipalities in Sweden. The results of this study indicated that the majority of the school counselors and teachers had positive experiences of collaboration. Those who had positive experiences perceived collaboration as continuous and generally effective. Others, who described collaboration as less effective, mentioned that school counselors and teachers did not take each other´s knowledge and competence seriously, and school counselors perceived that teachers sometimes attempted to pass inaccurate tasks to them as school counselors. The facilitating factors that emerged in the results were professional experience, knowledge and understanding of each other´s professions, an engaged principal, and regular meetings. Lack of resources and confidentiality were identified as hindering factors for collaboration.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka skolkurators och lärares upplevelser av samverkan samt identifiera underlättande och försvårande faktorer vid deras samverkan. Studiens syfte besvarades med hjälp av tre forskningsfrågor. Studien hade en kvalitativ metod och använde sju semistrukturerade intervjuer med fyra skolkuratorer och tre lärare som var yrkesverksamma på fyra olika kommuner i Sverige. Resultatet för denna studie visade att majoriteten av skolkuratorer och lärare hade positiva upplevelser av samverkan. De som hade positiva upplevelser beskrev att samverkan fungerade kontinuerligt och generellt bra. Andra som beskrev samverkan som mindre bra beskrev att skolkuratorer och lärare inte tog varandras kunskaper och kompetens på allvar och skolkuratorer beskrev att lärarna ibland försökte överlämna felaktiga uppgifter till skolkuratorn. De underlättade faktorer som framkom i resultatet var erfarenhet, kunskap om varandras yrke, engagerad rektor och möten. Brist på resurser och sekretess var de försvårande faktorer som framkom i studiens resultat.
