Data Visualization for Road Maintenance Monitoring : A case study of Trafikverkets GPD Analys (English)
Abstract [en]

This thesis has conducted a case study and utilized a design and creation strategy to explore how information regarding contract monitoring can be conveyed using extensive road maintenance data. By examining the Swedish Transport Administration's GPD Analys -system, this thesis addresses this purpose. This was deemed fitting as GPD Analys is a system that handles large amounts of data for contract monitoring purposes related to road maintenance. The thesis demonstrates that by employing various levels of abstraction and utilizing a component driven design with a focus on systematic deviations, information about road conditions and maintenance can be effectively communicated. This was revealed through interviews with GPD Analys users, as well as literature reviews and document studies. The report also presents concrete examples of how these insights can be implemented in GPD Analys to enhance its functionality and usability.

Denna uppsats har genomfört en fallstudie samt använt en design och skapande-strategi för att utforska hur information om kontraktsuppföljning kan förmedlas med hjälp av omfattande data kopplat till vägunderhåll. Genom att undersöka Trafikverkets system GPD Analys svarar denna uppsats på detta syfte. Detta ansågs lämpligt då GPD Analys är ett system som hanterar stora datamängder för kontraktsuppföljning inom vägunderhåll. Uppsatsen visar att genom att använda olika abstraktionsnivåer och en komponentdriven design med fokus på systematiska avvikelser, kan information om vägförhållanden och underhåll förmedlas effektivt. Detta framkom genom intervjuer med GPD Analys användare samt litteratur- och dokumentstudier. Uppsatsen presenterar även konkreta exempel på hur dessa insikter kan implementeras i GPD Analys för att förbättra dess funktionalitet och användbarhet.
