The landscape of labor market requirements for data analysts is evolving, driven by technological advancements and shifts in business needs. This thesis provides an analysis of the hard and soft skills demanded by employers for data analysts, drawing from a comprehensive dataset of online job postings from job postings sites in USA, spanning from November 2022 to April 2024. Using text mining techniques and clustering, the study systematically identifies the core competencies frequently listed in job advertisements and examines how these requirements differ across various career stages. The results show a significant demand for both technical skills, such as data visualization and SQL, and soft skills, including communication and problem-solving, underscoring their critical roles in the employability and effectiveness of data analysts. Additionally, the research investigates the impact of emerging technologies on job specifications and explores the broader implications for professional development and educational programming. By offering a detailed view of the current job market trends.
