Abstract [sv]

Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie var att undersöka hur professioner som arbetar med rehabilitering för personer med narkotikaberoende uppfattar hur stigmatisering kan påverka narkotikaberoendes hjälpsökandebeteende, samt hur stigma påverkar stöd och behandling. I studien genomfördes semistrukturerade intervjuer med sjuksköterskor, socialrådgivare och en alkohol- och narkotikaterapeut. Datamaterialet analyserades med en tematisk analys för att identifiera teman baserade på tidigare forskning och relevanta teorier. Resultatet visar att professionerna uppfattar att stigmatiseringen har en betydande inverkan på narkotikaberoendes hjälpsökandebeteende och är ett hinder för stöd och behandling

Abstract [en]

The aim of this qualitative study was to investigate how professionals working with rehabilitation for people with drug addiction perceive how stigma can affect drug addicts help-seeking behavior, and what barriers stigma on the support and treatment. The study conducted semistructured interviews with nurses, social workers, and an alcohol and drug therapist. The data was analyzed using a thematic analysis to identify themes based on previous research and relevant theories. The results show that the professionals perceive that stigma has a significant impact on drug addicts help-seeking behavior and is a barrier to support and treatment.
