Byggbranschen är en av de mest olycksdrabbade branscherna i Sverige. Trots omfattande regelverk förekommer fortfarande allvarliga arbetsplatsolyckor. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur medarbetare inom byggbranschen upplever och erfar säkerhetsbeteenden i sitt vardagliga arbete. Genom att fördjupa sig i deras beskrivningar och erfarenheter vill denna studie få en ökad förståelse för vilka faktorer som influerar dessa beteenden. I studien används kvalitativ metod för att besvara studiens syfte och frågeställningar. Detta görs genom att analysera medarbetares erfarenheter och upplevelser. Studien har sin utgångspunkt i empirisk fenomenologi och använder JDR-modellen samt teorier om säkerhetsbeteende, säkerhetsklimatoch säkerhetskultur som analytiska verktyg. Datainsamlingen byggde på åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer med yrkesarbetare i en större organisation inom byggbranschen i Sverige. Resultatet visar att säkerhetsbeteende formas i ett samspel mellan individuella erfarenheter, gruppnormer och organisatoriska strukturer. En stark intern säkerhetskultur, öppen kommunikation och ett närvarande ledarskap framträder som centrala faktorer för att främja säkra beteenden. Samtidigt utgör praktiska hinder, tidspress och brist på resurser betydande utmaningar. 

The construction industry is one of the sectors in Sweden with the highest rates of workplace accidents. Despite comprehensive regulations, serious incidents still occur. The aim of this study is to examine how employees in the construction industry experience and percive safety behaviors in their daily work. By exploring their descriptions and experiences, the study seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that influence these behaviours. A qualitative method was used to address the studys aim and research questions. This study is based on empirical phenomenology and uses the Job Demands-Resources (JDR) model, alongside theories of safety behaviour, safety climate, and safety culture as analytical tools. Data was collected through eight semi-structured interviews with construction workers employed by a large construction company in Sweden. The results show that safety behaviour is shaped by the interaction between individual experiences, group norms, and organizational structures. Astrong internal safety culture, open communication, and visible leadership emerge as keyfactors in promoting safe practice. At the same time, practical obstacles, time pressure, and limited resources are identified as considerable challenges to maintaining a safe work environment.
