This bachelor’s thesis examines how Christian preaching and liturgical practice are reshaped as preaching moves from physical church settings into digital podcast formats. The study is based on a qualitative content analysis of three Church of Sweden–related podcasts and four semi-structured interviews with church practitioners active in both physical worship settings and digital Christian environments. 

The podcast material is analysed in relation to the liturgical structure of the Church of Sweden’s Service Book (Kyrkohandbok), particularly the order of the mass. Since the podcasts are closely connected to the Church of Sweden, the Service Book functions as an analytical framework for comparing traditional liturgical structures with digitally mediated forms of preaching and devotion. 

The theoretical framework draws on research on mediatization, digital religion, homiletics, co-preaching, and the role of voice and sound in religious communication. The findings show that the podcasts represent different forms of digital religious practice: dialogical interpretation, individual devotional reflection, and mediated transmission of traditional liturgy. The study demonstrates that digital preaching both preserves and transforms liturgical functions, while also reshaping relationships between preacher, listener, community, and religious authority in digital environments.
